The Security Incident & Problem Manager is an integral part of the Cyber Defence Center (CDC) managing the security incidents, both technical and non-technical, with the objective of controlling impact within acceptable levels.

Following identification of a security incident the Security Incident & Problem Manager is responsible for the execution of the Security Incident Management Plan with the effective coordination of resources/Incident Response Team to achieve a successful outcome. Collaboration is required with the appropriate infrastructure relevant business teams to contain incidents. Security Incident & Problem Manager ensures that standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all problem to minimize the impact of problem upon service quality and consequently identifies opportunities to improve the day-to-day operations of the Security organization.

Remediation work involves working closely with the CDC & infrastructure teams and other subject matter experts to determine the root cause of incidents and identification of control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events. Security Incident & Problem Manager is responsible for preparing post-mortem incident reports that would be provided to all stakeholders.

The candidates need to be able to work in a global team environment (NA, EU, India), have prior experience of working in a web-based application services environment. The candidate should be a fast learner with the ability to refine their skills and contribute towards enabling the Information Security team.

Responsibilities:
Effective handling and co-ordination of security incident response activities in order to minimize impact and resolve the incidents according the agreed SLAs
Responsibility for supervising incident response tasks and overall ownership of the Incident Response Plan remaining on task throughout the incident.
Effective co-ordination of resources/creation of Incident Response Team to manage impact.
Conduct reviews to identify causes of information security incidents, develop corrective actions and re-assess risk
Validating, verifying, and reporting protective or countermeasure solutions, both technical and administrative
Provision of Incident Response Report and lessons learnt to key stakeholders.  Prevent previous incidents from recurring by documenting and learning from past incidents.
Remain current on developments affecting information risk and advise department management.
Leads problem management lifecycle, including assembling the relevant stakeholders, establishing the root cause, and ensuring senior InfoSec leadership is apprised of progress and recommendations for closure.
Proactively monitors and reviews Incident tickets to identify patterns and in partnership with the InfoSec/IT create problem records to be researched.
Clearly communicate findings in written reports
Protect proprietary company and personal information from disclosure.
Respond to tasking and direction as provided by the his/her manager
Clearly communicate findings in written reports
Prepare monthly InfoSec KPI/KRI reports
Planning and managing support for change management tools and process
Identify, initiate, schedule, and conduct incident reviews.
Ensure that all incidents are handled according to the agreed SLAs.
Keep up to date the CDC improvements into a dedicated register.

Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Cyber Security/Information Technology or other applicable area, or other equivalent experience.
Knowledge of computer networking & cyber security essentials
Minimum 3 years of experience of working as an Incident/Problem Manager, or as a lead within an Information Security Response Team
Understanding of incident handling skills – techniques, decision points and supporting tools
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to engage with business stakeholders translating detailed analysis into relevant briefings.
Ability to work and communicate effectively and tactfully with all levels of executives.
Exceptional communication and advocacy skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to express complex and technical issues as understandable language.
Ability to manage multiple activities and events simultaneously, with a strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to high priority events, organizing and scheduling work effectively.
