Lufthansa Technik is the world’s leading provider for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft, components and engines. Lufthansa Technik Sofia performs heavy maintenance checks on the Airbus A320 family and Boeing B737 and also Global Center for supplying state of the art solutions in Material and Purchasing. The company is situated at Sofia airport and operates since October 2008.

LTSF, as a provider for purchasing activities within the whole Lufthansa Technik AG group, is extending the purchasing activities of Lufthansa Service Center Sofia department and therefore looking for Material Service Agent

The purpose of the position is to ensure consistent, cost effective and high quality supply of material to customer base by providing excellent material service. Monitoring and coordination of material supply processes. Optimization and standardization along the entire logistics chain with focus on customer needs and satisfaction.

The primary role of the Material Service Agent includes the following responsibilities:

• Perform material service functions for critical C&E (consumables and expendables) demands of Lufthansa Technik workshops and external customers
• Monitor and coordinate supply processes of C&E materials to customers using an ERP and LHT own systems
• Worldwide sourcing, negotiating conditions and purchasing of aircraft materials
• Control/monitor and solve all material supply clarification requirements towards the customer
• Tracking, monitoring and clarification of created purchase orders until availability at demand location
• Document, monitor and file all case related details and documents
• Provide feedback and status to customers and internal workshops on a daily bases
• Coordinate supply of material for specific customer orders
• Liaise with German material and logistics organization on a daily base in English language
• Coordinate and interface on a professional basis with all internal and external colleagues
• Escalation of critical events
• Assist with projects / reporting as necessary
• Assist Project Managers with tasks and reports
• Assist Project Managers with optimization of material supply chain
• Responsible for coverage of related activities due to colleague’s absence from office

To be successful with the role you need to comply with the following requirements:

• University degree in field relevant for the position (technical- or business administration degree preferred)
• Relevant job experience
• Excellent language skills in English (both written and spoken). German language is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge in Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP R/3 or other ERP system is desirable. Excellent use of email, internet, and other computer tools
• Excellent analytical skills. Understanding of mathematical concepts
• Required soft skills: well-developed negotiation and communication skills, assertiveness, persuasiveness, teamwork, organizing ability
• High level of service and customer orientation
• Distinct cross-cultural competence
• Detail and goal oriented
• Problem solving and productivity driven
• Ability of decision making and self-initiative
