Job Description

We are currently looking for a Technical Engineer to join our Global Delivery Engineering Team.

In this role you will be supporting technical delivery of solution and infrastructure within global delivery engineering team. Providing technical consultancy and act as an expert in Delivery operations and support (covering monitoring, alerting and resource consumption).

The Technical Engineer is a part of the GDSCS Global Delivery Engineering team and will be a trusted advisor to the Regional Delivery teams and Customers throughout the delivery lifecycle. As the GDA product and delivery acceleration expert, this role is proactive and continually curious striving to understand the GDA customer context and product needs, challenges and issues, to drive value for the customer. This role contributes to the success of the GDA business through internal knowledge-sharing activities (i.e.product improvements, documentation optimization, enhancing GDA deliverability through technical input and customer advocacy, iteration of best practices and guiding principles).

Qualifications

Skills and responsibilities:
· Ability to drive on-prem and SaaS SDLC and software client implementation, specifically technical engineering aspects:
· IaaS/PaaS/SaaS setup and tech architecture principles (ie. scaling, tuning, web/app/DB, CI/CD deployment practices
· Alerting & monitoring (ie. Greylog/Grafana/Elasticsearch/Splunk, Cloudwatch/CloudTrail, Logstash, and Kibana)
· Integration delivery technologies (TCP/IP, REST & SOAP Web services, Kafka, MQ, ODBC/JDBC, file management) in Multi-architecture patterns: SOA, MOA, EDA.
· Understanding of XML, JSON, Swagger, ETL processing, and containers (Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes/EKS)
· Experience with test tools (ie. Selenium, Cucumber, Junit, etc) and database (i.e. Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
· Hands-on ability to delivery and troubleshoot SaaS and on-prem/hosted solutions from N-tier architecture components.
· Able to shape and drive acceleration of outcomes through strong critical thinking and analytical skills using agile value creation (rapid prototyping, paired working, collateral innovation).

Preferred Additional Skills:
· Ability to grasp and deliver against Tech Arch design and best practices
· Understanding of software languages Java, Groovy, C/C++, in UNIX and Windows
· OS admin with MS Windows Server and Linux (SLES, Red Hat, Oracle, CentOS, Ubuntu)
· DevOps and CI/CD setup and updates (i.e. Git/Jenkins/Ansible/Terraform/etc)
· Proven track record of customer-value driven agile working, rapid prototyping, artifacts and collateral development, knowledge transfer success, and understanding of project disciplines.
· A critical thinker and analytical, continuous learner, consultative problem solver with strong execution skills.
