Multi-Vendor Storage Technical Competency Leader

Your Role and Responsibilities
The Multi-Vendor Storage Technical Competency Leader role is a blended one – half IBM Technology Support Services chief technologist and half global technical team leader for the global pool of top technical multivendor enterprise storage talent. This role will handle the most complex client escalations, develop and deliver training roadmaps, and lead cross functional global projects to enable new technology support services capabilities. The perfect candidate should have expertise in various multi-vendor storage technologies.

Leads a global, remote technical support team staffed with IBM’s top global talent pool of certified enterprise storage technical specialists.
Provides guidance to Level 1, Level 2 and Field delivery teams.
Manages our OEM lab assets and drives our capital planning process to ensure that all personnel have access to the right suite of lab assets to re-create errors and solution client problems.
Establishes and maintains quality processes and procedures to ensure that all responsiveness, quality, and client satisfaction targets are met or exceeded.
Monitors and manages critical situations and ensure that RCAs are performed and acted upon in the event of any service failures.
Manages global metrics review process across all geographies for multivendor storage.
Develop and deliver storage education as needed to address skill gaps with team members.
Develop and maintain service delivery process documentation.
Role requires flexible working schedule EU and US hours and occasional on-call coverage.
Participate in internal projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Education and professional experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer science or similar technical field.
3+ years providing technical support or system administration.
Deep technical expertise in a wide range of enterprise storage product families.
Experience in customer facing roles.
Skills and competencies:
Excellent command of spoken and written English (B2-C1 level).
Excellent soft skills, active listening/reading, sympathy, ask when in doubt, explain clearly and set right expectations.
Good planning and organization skills.
Willingness to travel internationally on occasion for additional education.
Analytical thinking & attention to detail
Self-motivated, driving continual improvement & operational success with little direction.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Deep understanding of major OS types and architectures;
Experience in virtualization technologies;
Experience providing technical support or administration for storage products with focus on the following OEMs – HPE, NetApp, Lenovo will be considered as an advantage.
