ANALYTICS ENGINEER - BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE

Position summary

This position is a part of the Management Information and Decision Support (MIDS) domain, with specific focus on enabling management information, business intelligence & analytics competencies.
The Management Information domain is a new and developing domain within the organisation, with the primary purpose is to reduce time to insights. The Management Information team’s objective is to invest in the core capabilities of data management, data engineering and information products enabling decision support to ensure we are bringing timely, accurate and actionable insight to our Finance and Business partners.
This role will enable business insights through understanding business requirements, using data and modern BI tools and techniques to build visualizations. This role is a key partner between business needs and data engineering, delivering the final information product. The Analytics Engineer is a seasoned data visualization professional with a proven track record building dashboards that enable business value.

Major Tasks:

• Play a key part in deployment of the MI strategy, plan, and processes to effectively manage data, data engineering, and financial analytics across the region.
• Ensure that technology available is leveraged in the best possible way to deliver on data ambitions.
• Achieve and continuously improve span of control and fragmentation of work targets.
• Enable moving up the curve from reporting to dashboards (self-service) to streamlined data with advanced analytic tools.
• Functional requirements gathering & user story development, working directly with business stakeholders.
• Executes on business requirements, determine fit to existing solutions and partner with IT, Data Engineering and project teams on how to resolve solution gaps.
• Architect and model dashboards and user interactions based on business requirements.
• Build & standardize data visualization across teams in the region to enable consistency and quality control of key business data.
• Build information products across business to meet reporting needs within businesses.
• User training on information products.
• Identify areas of enhancement.
• Troubleshooting – working with users to resolve issues.
• Support a culture of intellectual curiosity and continuous leaning to meet self and team individual development goals
• BI Reporting Governance and Process Improvement
• Responsible for the governance (standards and documentation) of solutions developed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information or Computer Sciences
• Minimum 3 years Data / BI / Analytics experience
• Data analytics tools – PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx
• Proven track record implementing BI solutions
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Logical data management affinity & experience
• English Proficiency
• Proven ability to develop partnerships and effectively influence change across a broad stakeholder network
• Strong understanding of business value creation by leveraging disparate data sourcing and enabling business decisions.
• Continuous learner
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to understand and use technology to improve process and control
• Ability to travel on occasion
