PMO Financial Analyst

The role of the PMO Financial Analyst is to lead and ensure Project Portfolio financials are properly monitored and managed in pursuit of maximizing profitability and identifying discrepancies. The person must demonstrate knowledge of corporate finance, information analysis , financial diagnosis and Project management functions and methodologies. They will also be strong in stakeholder management and the ability to use PPM tools to control the daily activities. The role will report into the Head of PMO.

Job Specification

Portfolio Support and Administration

Provides analytical, forecasting, reporting, and support to senior management;
Works with management to develop budgets and forecast future revenue and expenses;
Monitors budgets and identifies any variances between projected spending and actual spending to ensure that expenses do not exceed funds available on Project Portfolio level;
Provides support to the Project Managers with the estimates in the Project Financial Tracker;
Understand the generic full project lifecycle of Projects and understand the concept of both Programs and Portfolios;
Support for the Head of the PMO, Project and Portfolio Management teams;
Be familiar with the Processes during the full project lifecycle and how they relate to Apex projects;
Project Controls and Financial Reporting

Prepares a variety of management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, providing commentary and variance analysis to track budget;
Support the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes;
Develop financial models that help with decision-making
Reviews financial statements and reports for accuracy and recommending any needed adjustments
Perform regular quality controls of the data in the PPM tool;
Monitor and support project standards, approaches, plans, policies, and procedures by performing regular audits of the ongoing projects;
Produce portfolio reports and analyses for different stakeholder groups;
Collect and analyze project data, and generate reports, graphs and presentations as required.
Project Portfolio Support

Work with the Project teams to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner;
Work with the Project teams to ensure status reports are updated;
Assist the Project teams in the creation of Project documentation (PID/Acceptance documentation/Documented plans);
Skills Required

Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, economics, or related field;
3+ years of relevant experience
Proven knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
High communication skills required at all levels. Must be able to interact with senior leadership. Excellent command of verbal and written communication (English). Effective presentation style for all levels of stakeholders.
Strong problem solving, decision making, issue analysis and resolution skills.
Ability to work well in a fast paced multicultural global work environment.
Proficient in MS Office products including MS Project.
