The Senior Internal Controller aim is to support Senior Manager Internal Controls in defining, publishing, and implementing Cargotec Controls Framework and organizing annual controls self-assessment, along with potential peer reviews. Also is responsible for the implementation of internal controls in the Cargotec business areas

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Driving a clear vision for the development of internal controls within assigned business area
• Working on detailed priority areas in conjunction with Finance VPs, the Internal Controls Manager and key process area stakeholders, and ensuring these are clearly communicated to all impacted key stakeholders including global process owners, business unit management team members, regional and divisional managers and process area experts
• Agreeing road maps for progressing priority areas
• Monitor BA’s and Functions’ preparation of gap analysis and roadmaps, support those falling behind
• Organizing awareness and training events (identification and booking of space and other arrangements, booking attendees), and potentially delivering the training
• Creating energy and enthusiasm behind the reasons internal control effectiveness can enhance business performance
• Advice businesses and functions on how to fill controls gaps
• Maintaining relevant BA material in the controls framework portal structure and content
• Developing new control objectives/key controls
• Helping to establish RASCIE-Os (=accountabilities) for Control Objectives
• Participating in, and potentially lead controls reviews/audits/visits
• Preparing training materials
• Help maintaining the hierarchy of all units and persons that will complete the controls Self-Assessment process (business unit managers and controllers)
• Working alongside systems and other colleagues to ensure the self-assessment system (Insight, based on Bwise technology) and accompanying process is clear and well explained
• Create appropriate documents
• Follow up progress and make reports
• All work needs to be conducted in compliance with Global Company guidelines, code of conduct, policies, procedures, controls and legal requirements

What you’ll need to succeed

Education

• Relevant education (typically business)

Experience

• Working across functions and different geographies
• Leading change in controls / Seen as a change agent
• Driving efforts from a distance and driving close monitoring of performance
• Expertise in how controls solutions can be automated and practically implemented
• Stakeholder management / Conflict resolution
• Able to address attempts to dilute the controls framework and effectively manage these
• Ability to prioritize and creatively use resources
• Understand best practices in fit for purpose internal controls implementation
• Understand changes in business models
• Internal Audit and Sarbanes-Oxley knowledge an advantage
• 7+ Year of relevant experience as Auditor or Internal/External Controller

Competencies

• Fluent in English
• Excellent skills in MS office programs, willingness to learn Google applications
• International mindset
• Possibility to travel
