Lufthansa Technik is the world’s leading provider for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) of aircraft, components and engines. Lufthansa Technik Sofia performs heavy maintenance checks on the Airbus A320 family and Boeing B737 and also Global Center for supplying state of the art solutions in Material and Purchasing. The company is situated at Sofia airport and operates since October 2008.

LTSF, as a provider for purchasing activities within the whole Lufthansa Technik AG group, is extending the purchasing activities of Lufthansa Service Center Sofia department and therefore looking for a Lead Supplier Management Specialist.

A Lead Supplier Management Specialist is responsible for building and managing relationships with companies that supply material and repair services to the Lufthansa Technik AG.
By ensuring that the suppliers keep the agreed terms and conditions such as lead times, turnaround times for repairs, prices and quality requirements, the Lead Supplier Manager contributes to the optimal and long-term supply provisioning situation as well as efficiency, productivity and success of his company.

Main Responsibilities:

• Active supplier management including building and developing relationships with suppliers of material and repair services in the aviation industry
• Monitor and assess supplier performance to ensure high standard of quality and delivery of materials
• Organize and lead telephone/video conferences and meetings with the suppliers regularly to discuss current performance and future development of the relationship
• Follow-up contractual conditions adherence such as prices, price changes, performance, bonuses etc.
• Take actions in case of structural deviations from the agreed terms and conditions such as proposing and negotiating any further requirements and claims
• Support operational purchasing staff on clarifying uncommon or extraordinary suppliers or contract related cases
• Collaborate with other Lufthansa purchasing departments and product divisions to identify potential synergies and to use them in order to enhance purchasing efficiency
• Prepare and review reports, evaluations, analyses as a basis for management decisions
• Design and implement supply chain and business strategies to create suitable conditions, new opportunities and cost reduction within a changing market environment
• Initiate improvements in processes and procedures within his/hers fields of expertise
• Take responsibility for leading other projects and tasks

Requirements:

• University degree with a focus on business administration, economics, international business or business engineering
• Minimum 5 years professional experience in international business environment
• Minimum 2 years professional experience in purchasing environment
• Distinct knowledge of business administration processes and supply chain management. Technical affinity is seen as an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills and experience in leading contract negotiations, including legal terminologies and concepts
• Proactivity, creativity and high engagement
• High level of responsibility, determination, assertiveness and persuasiveness
• Stable and professional conduct/ demeanor and conflict behavior as well as intercultural/ cross cultural competence
• Distinct analytical and conceptual thinking
• Ability to present and transfer complex topics in a precise, clear and structured way
• Excellent language skills in English (both written and spoken).German language is an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge in Excel/Word/PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP R/3 or other ERP system is desirable. Excellent use of email, internet, and other computer tools
• Adaptability and ability to work in team
• High flexibility and resistance to high workload
• Willingness and readiness to conduct business travels abroad frequently
• Availability to comply with the specific working time requirements to cover different time zones due to customer and supplier need
• Willingness for continuing trainings
• Excellent communication skills
• Adaptability and ability to work in a team
