EMEA Service Planner

Your Role and Responsibilities

Within the TSS Global Service Planning organization the GEO Service Planner – previously known as Operational Lifecycle Manager or OLCM – is the professional responsible for the HW/SW Service Delivery lifecycle plans for a portfolio of IBM (LOGO) or Non-IBM (MVS) platforms, or set of products, for the GEO/Market assigned.
The GEO Service Planner has a good understanding of the Maintenance and Warranty Services Delivery processes, together with a good understanding of the specificity and requirements of the GEO/Market assigned, strictly collaborating with all the organizations involved in the service lifecycle – Field/Remote Support Delivery, TSS Offering, SPO and others – with the goal to monitor/improve the performance for the owned products portfolio.

The role will perform the following tasks:
• Inputting/Reviewing/Challenging/Approving Global Service Delivery Plans ensuring capabilities for Education, Spare Parts, Support Structure and Delivery Resources.
• Act as a consultant to the Offering organization to evaluate and optimize new offers and open for more opportunities.
• Ensuring that the WW designed Delivery Strategy fits the Market or specific Country requirements, identifying and addressing the necessary changes eventually escalating them to the appropriate organization/function, or directly to manufacturer.
• Evaluate opportunities to remove duplication and create more synergy focalizing on added-value tasks that can be ran cross-platform, exploring opportunities for collaboration and skill-sharing across Markets, GEO, or Global level.
• Collaborate with Delivery and Service Planning Management in the GEO to define KPI target objectives for Operational and Product performances.
• Delivery benchmark comparison between GEO/Markets, providing leadership on delivery efficiency projects.
• Use expertise to launch and/or participate to new initiatives for growth and cost optimization.
• Act as a consultant for cross Market Bids, complex MVSS deals, New tools development etc.
• Build and maintain relationship with Markets, manufacturers, and other partners.
• Work in collaboration with IBM Service Parts Organization and/or other partners to define the product parts strategy for the GEO/Market assigned.
• Ensure the management of End of Service (EOS) interlocked with Global Process and Business Management.
• Be the GEO/Market go-to person and escalation point for any specific process, quality, or performance issue for the assigned product portfolio.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Fluent in English (C1 level or above)
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in IT, Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics, or at least 5 years’ work experience in Service Planning organizations.
• At least 2 years of professional and technical expertise on products support for LOGO – System Z, Power, Storage – and/or MVS Datacenter/Networking platforms or relevant equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and clear understanding of HW/SW Warranty vs. Maintenance services and related costs allocation concepts.
• Good knowledge of spare parts management.
• At least 2 years’ experience in Communication/Organization in large matrix organization environment.
• Good negotiator and easy to work with.
• Has a sense of accountability for the responsibilities he/she is given.
• Be a team player fostering collaboration, creativity, innovation and motivation.
• Ability to work independently, to prioritize and balance workload commitments within defined schedules.
• Flexible and able to work in changing conditions and with changing target dates.
• Proficient in MS Excel and generally the MS Office Suite.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Master’s degree
• At least 1 year experience in Project/Program management background
• At least 2 years’ experience in Maintenance/Warranty services in technical support delivery organizations.
• Proficiency in one of the major spoken language in EMEA preferably between Arabic, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish (B2 level or above)
• Previous experience in Business Analyst/Data Analyst roles.
• Knowledge of TSS Maintenance Business and/or Multi-Vendor Service Delivery requirements in EMEA Geography is a plus.
